Abid Javed is a ceramic sculptor and designer, creating collectible ‘molecular objects’, using clay.

With a background in Molecular Biology, the collections bring in the unseen world to the forefront. The studio practice takes an abstract/surrealist approach to create a sculptural landscape inspired by biology and biological narratives. Subject matters explored include cells to molecules, biomorphism, designers' cultural heritage referencing islamic art, geometry and 20th century art & design. The objects are crafted such that they sit between sculpture and design, showcasing the prowess of craftsmanship with the materials used. This encompasses using clay as the main sculpture material as well as designing ways to incorporate other materials with ceramic.

All objects are handmade and carefully crafted for a design brief or an art concept.
